Highlights from the report

Hiring Activity Summary during the 2023-2024 Program Year

The 2023-2024 academic year showed strong hiring activity. In the year ending June 30, 2024, campuses reported 29 fellows hired into ladder-rank positions within the University of California system with start dates within the 2024-2025 academic year. Hiring activity among campuses can vary widely and is subject to many variables including enrollment growth and turnover. 

PPFP Resumes Program Directors Meeting

After a hiatus during the pandemic, PPFP has resumed the annual Program Directors Meeting. The meeting was held November 2023 at the UC Washington Center. Approximately 40 participants attended including program directors and staff, invited guests, and advisory committee members. Presentations included overview of participating programs to familiarize partners with the variety and structure of the partnership programs and included a conversation with administrators from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
